Why is there such a close association between recruitment and diversity at L'Oréal?

Because we are convinced that our current and future success lies in the diversity of our human resources. We have to be truly “obsessed” with diversity right from the word go, from the recruitment stage: we must make diversity a reflex in our day-to-day work as well as in our campus recruitment operations.

Forming diverse teams is about anticipating and integrating the increasingly varied requirements of our customers, increasing creativity and innovation, creating an image of a company that is open to the world it serves and open to the widest possible range of talents.

That said, we do not intend to compromise on our requirements in terms of individual skills and performance. Working to promote diversity is about giving everyone the same opportunities for success. Consequently, we need to work tirelessly to seek out and attract a wide range of different people and convince them that, at L’Oréal, they will not be required to suppress their personalities or fit into a mold but, on the contrary, they will be encouraged to explore their ideas and their different viewpoints to the fullest.
